Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig 21st September, 1983). 21, 1983) is a well-known American actor. Particularly, she appeared as Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV series and Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. Maggie Grace was born in Worthington, Ohio and dropped out of school after her parents divorced to go into Los Angeles to live with her mother. In the midst of financial hardship, she got her first role as Rachel's Room's main character the online video series Rachel's Room in 2001. The role she played as Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the T.V. film Murder in Greenwich in 2002 earned her an award nomination for the Young Artist Award. In 2004 Grace was selected to portray Shannon Rutherford in the television series Lost in which she was a main actor for the first two seasons. She was also awarded an award called the Screen Actors Guild Award shared with the cast of the ensemble. Grace wanted to focus on film after starring opposite Tom Welling's character in The Fog, in 2005. She was on the screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in both 2007 and Taken (2008) alongside Liam Neeson. The actress reprised her character for Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a modern adaptation to the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played Shannon's part on Lost for two more episodes, including the series final. The year 2013 saw Grace appear in Californianation, the 6th season. The role she plays is Faith, a groupie who is a muse for the stars, and draws the attention to Hank Moody (David Duchovny). She belongs to the Gyllenhaal family and is the older sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. Her first roles were in films starring her father when he was an adolescent. Along with her brother, she also appeared as a character in Donnie Darko (2000). Then she appeared in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal's lead roles in Secretary, a romantic comedy-drama erotico, as well as Sherrybaby (a drama) earned her nominations for Golden Globe Awards. Following several commercially-successful films, such as World Trade Center in 2006 she gained greater recognition for her role as Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). The year 2009 was the time she received a nomination as the best supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her role of a single mom as she appeared in Crazy Heart. The subsequent roles she has played include Nanny McPhee and in the Big Bang and Hysteria. Other roles she has played include the role of a Secret Service agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013) as well as a singer in the film Frank (2014) and The title role in the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal made her debut as a director and writer in 2021, with the psycho-drama The Lost Daughter. For the film, she won the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and received nominations for the Academy Award.
