Elizabeth Gillies was born in New York City. She is an American actor and singer. She is known as Lucy in her role on the Nickelodeon sitcom Victorious and Jade West for the musical 13. She started her career as an actress for commercials. The Black Donnellys (2007) marked her first television role. In the Nickelodeon show Victorious the actress played Jade West between 2010 and 2013. The role was her main one for the FX comedy show Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll (2015-16). In 2008, the Critics Choice Movie Awards nominated her for the award of Best Young Actress in 2010 in Sofia Coppola's Somewhere. She attracted recognition in 2011 due to her role as a lead in the sci-fi action film Super 8 which earned her a Spotlight Award at the Hollywood festival of thrillers. She played the title role in We Bought a Zoo, Ginger & Rosa and Maleficent.
